Explainer videos,
fully prompted.

Let ChatGPT 6 Astra build a complete explainer video natively inside After Effects, through the Higgsfield AI Motion Designer plugin. Real shape and text layers, everything editable, and no length limit, because nothing is generated as video.

How it works

You need two things: ChatGPT 6 Astra and the AI Motion Designer plugin by Higgsfield connected to After Effects. In the chat you address it with @Higgsfield and it drives After Effects for you: compositions, precomps, shape layers, text animators, expressions. Since the result is a real AE project and not a generated clip, there is no length limit and every layer stays editable.

01Build the explainer

The Prompt

Open ChatGPT 6 Astra with the plugin connected, make sure After Effects is running, and paste the full prompt. This is the exact one from my example, a 4-scene water explainer in portrait format. Swap the topic, scenes and colors for your own content:

Explainer Prompt · FullClick to copy@Higgsfield /use-after-effects Create a new composition named "Water Explainer" at 1080x1440 (3:4 portrait), 30 fps, 10 seconds, and build a short explainer in it titled "How water gets into the bottle". All on-screen text in English. Native shape layers, text layers and effects only, everything editable, no imported footage. Four scenes of 2.5 seconds each in separate precomps, snappy easing with slight overshoot, quick cuts. Portrait layout: headline top-left in the upper 20 percent, main object centered in the middle 60 percent, chip labels and arrows in the lower 20 percent. Keep 80 px safe margins on all sides. Typography: headlines in a chunky extrabold grotesque sans-serif, white, tight tracking. Chip labels and small captions in a medium-weight monospace font, uppercase, wide tracking. One accent word per scene in an elegant serif italic, larger, in the pink-lilac accent. Pick matching fonts from the ones installed on my system and tell me which ones you chose instead of silently substituting. Style reference (see attached image): flat-3D look on a blue gradient background (light sky blue #BFD4FF at top to royal blue #2B5BFF at bottom). Objects are chunky, glossy and rounded: use linear gradients, a soft white specular highlight strip and a subtle drop shadow to fake 3D. Accent colors: lime green glass #A6FF3C for arrows and chips, soft pink-lilac gradient (#FF8BD0 to #C7A6FF) for one accent per scene, silver-white for caps and metal. Decorations: thin 2 px white outline doodles (elliptical orbit lines, small four-point sparkles). Scene 1, headline "STEP 1", accent word "Source." A stylized mountain shape with a spring; glossy water drops (spheres) fall into a funnel. Orbit lines and sparkles around. Scene 2, headline "STEP 2", accent word "Filter." Drops pass through three stacked filter discs; small grey particle dots stop on the discs; clear blue stream exits below. A lime green arrow shows the flow. Scene 3, headline "STEP 3", accent word "Fill." A glossy bottle rises from the bottom, a filling pipe lowers from the top, the water level rises with a gentle wave edge and a few rising bubbles. A chip label "0.5 L" pops in. Scene 4, headline "STEP 4", accent word "Cap." A silver cap rotates on from above with an overshoot bounce, a pink label wraps around the bottle, a sparkle pops at the cap. End card: "That's it. Now drink." with a chip "EXPLAINER". Add an inertial bounce expression to the cap in scene 4 and to the chip pop-ins. Name all layers clearly. Work sequentially: one scene at a time, wait for each After Effects script to finish before sending the next one. Do not run steps in parallel.

Pro TipGenerate a style reference image first and attach it to your prompt. The prompt above points to one ("see attached image"), and a visual reference keeps the whole video much more consistent than color codes alone.

02Change the whole look with one sentence

Restyle Everything

Because everything lives as native layers, you can restyle the complete video afterwards with a single follow-up prompt:

Style Change · PromptClick to copyChange the style of this entire video to a Vox-style paper collage.

Try any direction: paper collage, blueprint, neon wireframe, claymation look. Attaching a reference image of the target style works here too.

03Edit like any AE project

Make It Yours

The result is a normal After Effects project: named layers, precomps per scene, expressions on the bounces. Adjust timings, swap copy, extend scenes or hand it to a client as an editable file. That is the real difference to video generators, and why there is no length limit: you can keep adding scenes for as long as you want.
